My friends, my comrades, my fellow defenders of liberation,

I do not stand before you as a Colombian, I stand before you as part of the great family of peoples who refuse to bow to imperial greed, no matter its flag. And today, we see that greed in full view as the Peruvian coup regime, a government born not of the people’s will but of betrayal and repression, dares to seize what is not theirs.

This is not a dispute over a few square meters of land, it is a test of whether sovereignty still belongs to the people, or whether borders can be bent to serve the ambitions of illegitimate rulers. The Peruvian elite, installed through a parliamentary coup and sustained by the weapons of repression, has no mandate to speak for its own citizens, let alone to redraw the map of the Amazon.

We have seen this before. When a regime has no legitimacy at home, it turns outward, grasping for enemies abroad. It wraps itself in the flag, hoping the people will forget who really robs them: the corrupt political class, the foreign corporations that bleed the land dry, and the oligarchs who profit from their misery. Today, they seek to distract from their own crisis with a dangerous territorial gambit against Colombia.

But the world is watching. And those of us who believe in the self-determination of nations will not stay silent while a government born of a coup tramples on treaties, threatens peace, and undermines the sovereignty of its neighbor. Leticia is not theirs. The Amazon is not theirs. The future of these lands belongs to the peoples who have lived, worked, and defended them for generations.

To the Colombian people: know that you are not alone. Across borders, across oceans, we stand with you in the struggle against this act of neo-colonial arrogance. Your defense of your land is part of a wider fight, the same fight that peoples from Asia to Africa to Latin America have waged for centuries against empires in all their disguises.

And to the Peruvian coup regime: the days of drawing borders with the stroke of a pen and the backing of a foreign patron are ending. The peoples of the world are awakening, and no amount of manufactured disputes will shield you from the reckoning you owe your own citizens.

Long live the sovereignty of Colombia.
Down with the Peruvian coup regime.
Down with imperialist land grabs.
And may the tide of peoples’ liberation wash away every throne and palace built on stolen land.
