This is how swedish propaganda works. It began with a Sweden only thing but them swedes had drag all us nordics into their shit show.
No it only happens in Sweden. Only Sweden should be red.

The Scottish are culturally more similar to us; they have bagpipes, we have bagpipes. They have haggis, we have haggis too, they have traditional blue tattoos, we have traditional blue tattoos. They were called barbarians in the past same as us.
This is a meme, you absolutely can stay to eat if you're visiting someone, but it is common to call ahead and make an appointment so they know you are staying to eat

You're dutch. You niggers are the most miserly people I have ever had the depression of meeting. A dutch finds it easier to have all his teeth plucked out individually with pliers and his skin torn off with red hot iron tongs than letting slip an opportunity to be a bad host or a cheap miserly bastard.
... It's why I wanna immigrate to the Netherlands.
I think what people don't get is that offering food and getting in the good graces of your neighbors is something that's done for local political reasons. Sweden was/is a fairly friction free society with little corruption, food politics hasn't been a big thing here for a while.
I've eaten at a friend's house and friends have been at my place but it's never been a thing that stood out in my mind as something very important or indicative of anything larger. It's not because I don't like having friends or eating food but I think a lot of people haven't experienced that without the implicit political dimension.
This will probably change with more ethnopolitics, literal mafias and increased corruption

this goes hand in hand with an actual expectation to be served something and seeing is as rude not be vs ours its rude to offer food or expect it.
wtf dont you think i can afford my own? i came here to discuss a simple business deal lets do just that so i can return to dinner with my family, its 15 min max?
its a full 180 to the others.

that always happened to me when I visited families with a Russian background

its the opposite here, at least with old school families if you're visiting and its around dinner time its expected that you'll stay for dinner otherwise its almost considered rude, I don't think zoomies care as much but when I was younger if I went to someone's house and they asked if I wanted dinner and said no they would say something like "oh what you have something better to eat at your house? so it was expected you'd just say yes to staying
