Day by day it hits me more
I always try to travel once a year at the least since i got the means to do it. Not saying that I have seen lots, but I have been to places in Malaysia, India and Sri lanka, and i gotta say that with each trip its hitting me how fucking limited Maldives, especially Male is. And my hatred for this place and its systems increases. First of, its so fucking pricy to live here. Rent eats up 90% of the salary, even if you're living in a match box. If you wanna eat healthy consistently, get ready to sell a kidney cause thats the only way you can afford it. And education is useless. Have an MBA? Great, get ready to earn MVR 12k, YAY. AND there is no land here. I would love to move to my island but what the fuck would i do there? There arent any jobs. I would love to spend on where i live, maybe build a lil home library or a home gym, which i realistically could cause i have a good pay if I'm not living for rent in another person's house. Or if there was space at least. Or if rent was a bit reasonable. Also, theres nothing to do here. All anyone can do is fucking eat. Bored, watch a movie at home with snacks. Go out for a round and get fucked in the ass by the traffic. So weekends feels like a waste where you rot in bed all day. Also, cant forget, to do anything costs a fortune. Abroad, theres always somwhere you can go to, travelling inside the country is super cheap even by plane. There are big ass malls, and stuff are so cheap. I was in bangalore a few days back and it was a really good neighbourhood i was staying in, so i wanted to see how much rent would be if i was planning to stay long term. It was 18k rupees for a big ass 3 room apartment. And there was natural light and shit coming in from all the right places with huge rooms and baths. Like FUCK ME. And you could survive on fruits and vegetables easily as its so cheap. Want cheaper? Drive to the farmers market and get fresh for cheaper.
