Can anyone really be considered 100% american? What do most americans think?

Is a jewish american or an indian american as american as one of mostly british ancestry? Interestingly most black people arriving to the USA are instantly considered "african american" so 100% american. If anything I think the USA is an example that someone's link to nationhood means nothing compared to ethnicity

at this point america's divisions have become so large that it mostly matters what state you come from

for example with yourself, you'd be right at home and "american" in california, new mexico, nevada, arizona, colorado, and texas because they are all mostly mexican now

Who is 100% Spanish? The celts? The Carthaginians? The Romans? The Moors and islamic converts? The French and Basque that "reconquered" Spain?

It's not even the same thing
Most of those (celts, celtiberians, romans, visigoths, etc) have always belonged in Spain and been a part of its creation as a nation, while some random vietnamese or chinese or indian dude coming to the USA and considering themselves as american as a person with mostly ancestry related to the establishment of the USA as a country can be argued against
I'm just asking for an american's opinion regarding if they consider one as american as the other as long as they "behave american"

true but i wouldn’t go that far. from a bong standpoint whether someone has more germanic blood, celtic or a mix of both, they’re both as english as each other because it was the mingling of these groups that created our identity. the same goes for spain, france, etc

the average white american is NW euro, most are germanic and english. Idk why this fries the brains of iberojeets.
