Both high-crime cities and the houses are likely in rough areas. Especially with the Detroit property, you'd have to tear it down or spending six-figures fixing it up. And that's before the risk of you having to pay back taxes on the properties themselves.
These both look great on paper, but in practice they're massive money pits and your reward for that headache is to live in a ghetto.
But again, actual housing wasn't the point of this thread, it's just some Argentinian wanting to troll burgers, so I'm not expecting honest discourse.
