most of the time at a family-owned market near my home (meat, vegetables, fruits). When I need something rarer, such as imported chocolate or olive oil, I go to sam's club or carrefour.

Ica Maxi. Picrel. >What do you typically buy?
Potatoes, pork, onions, butter, milk, coffee, vegetables, fish, spice, 24 pack of pepsi max... I mean, groceries.

where I live, it exists in several places, i believe it is the same there, it is a large store where you pay an annual fee and buy in bulk. It's the place i find some good greek olive oils and imported wine/chocolate/beer, argentine cheese, and so on.

Yep. Maxi is the largest of the Ica stores and their whole point is being huge, clean and "airy".
And since they are (a little bit) more expensive than for example Willys or Lidl it's never packed with trashy people. Mostly Swedish families, pensioners and people like me who hate crowds and screaming kids everywhere.
Plus it's the only store open until 23:00, when pretty much everything else closes at 20:00 - 21:00.

I usually go to local Vietnamese or Mexican grocery stores for cheap/ethnic fruit or veg.
For larger chains, I usually shop at Aldi, Target and Sprouts. I'll get basics like eggs, butter or milk at Aldi or Target. If I want something a bit fancier, I go to Sprouts. Sometimes they have good deals too. I like to get their thick cut bacon and oddly, potatoes. For whatever reason, their potatoes last longer for me.

Carrefour reminds me of my childhood. Where I live, it's located in a rich neighborhood "glued" to a shopping mall. I used to go there all the time for a happy hour.
