I've been reading the Bible on and off for a while and today I think I am done reading everything, even if not in the chronological order that was intended with the structure. The interesting bit in my blogpost will be the observation that the defining characteristics of Christianity come from the letters, particularly Johannes' letters. Why is that? Why did they felt they need to include the letters of humans with the word of God, as a prelude of some sort? IMHO, if you just ignore everything in the Bible and just read Johannes' letters you'd get 90% of Christianity, but the opposite is not true. Internationally speaking.

Christianity is just an abherration, Jesus apostles and Paul were hellenofags so they put hellenic theology to fit into it. Islam is the true religion

yeah I hoped I had some brain damage or something the first time I realized that most of the bible is paul content, the acts of the apostles and all his letters.

the worst part is that paul is a better storyteller than all the rest too.

Name one religion that came directly from God.

well sure, but Christians would not say that the Bible is the direct word of God like how muslims say the Quran is, we have the belief of it being "divinely inspired" in that the authors of it were overseen and directly influenced by the Holy Spirit while writing it, but it is not word for word what God says

OK I won't judge you for being a Muslim but don't say this too freely on here because your ass is going to get tore up.

I think it was inevitable because many of Christ's teachings are so vague it left all these issues undefined--like to what extent non-jews could be accepted into the religion.
The letters from paul are mostly just him wrangling all these conflicts springing up within the religion as it was spreading

the letters, along with all the books of the bible, are considered the divinely inspired word of God.

I've skipped the Old Testament parts because I was planning to directly read the Torah instead. What do you think? It's impossible to find it in printed form here though.

Humans have a tendency to conflate their feelings with truth though, even if just retell something in your own words, your bias, that comes from your feelings, would still seep through. And maybe you'd convince yourself that you stayed loyal to the original material even if you actually didn't.

That's where the holy spirit comes in. They were directly inspired by god/the holy spirit when the wrote it down.

wtf was Yahveh's problem?

Can you clarify, did Holy Spirit reveal his word to the apostles or inspired them to write it down on their own? When you say that they were inspired I can't help but imagine that some wiggle room and interpretation was permitted, which would morph the original material even with utmost care. Perhaps you are trying to say that Holy Spirit intervened every time apostles interpreted his word wrong, so eventually, through a trial and error process (?), the apostles got it right?

what he means is that the holy spirit guided the authors in such a way that the text is considered infallible, at least in all its moral teachings. We don’t think like muslims do with the quran for example that an angel directly dictated the words to the author who wrote them down.
