Depends on the region of kyrgyzstan, but recently I also noticed that the kyrgyz who live closer to the steppe(kazakhstan border) look much more mongoloid than the kyrgyz from other regions.

to me, chinese women look more tan and a bit more urban in nature. i think korean and vietnamese women are the easiest to tell apart from other asians. japanese men are very distinctive, but i feel like a lot of the japanese women i see in media look very korean due to the plastic surgery, makeup, and overall vibe that gets them on TV (nice body, pale complexion, etc.). i've definitely gotten better at identifying them in recent years, but i'd say if they aren't immediately recognizable as korean or some sort of "tanner" country, i'm just guessing.

I occasionally see Japanese women who come to Korea, but they are indistinguishable from Korean women nowadays
They usually have a slightly higher percentage of droopy eyes, but that's not a good enough indicator to distinguish them
Chinese international students are slightly easier to distinguish (totally white facial makeup, long undyed hair, urban fashion), but it's still hard

Yes. Not always, but given enough sample size, there are subtle differences and tells. Koreans are the most altaic on average out of the 3, therefore, smallest eyes that slant more horizontally, and more leptorrhic nose, squarer jaws. Cheekbones wise, koreans and japanese are somewhat up there w each other. Japanese and southern chinese tend to be darker, and wider nose & flatter nose bridge, bigger double-lid-esque eyes. Japanese are more gracile, and some have lower brow ridge due to jomon admixture, and messed up teeth.

China is american mystery meat, asian version, but their phenotype roughly is roughly altaic-manchu-korean-han of north/northeast, aryan-altaic-han mix of northwest/west, han-tai kadai of south/southeast, tibetans of southwest, and peak mystery meat of central china. funnily enough.. most of their top beauties all come from the western/southwestern/northern/northeastern peripheries, not central or southern china lmao.

Jackie Chan and Xi look Chinese. Aren't Koreans a bit more stout-looking on average too? Kinda like Norwegians vs. Swedes in that case.

You can see it in the way they act, their mannerisms, how they style themselves, and obviously how they talk. If you just have a natural picture, no expression, no make up, no surgery, no hair cut et cetera, it removes many of the core aspects of it and reduces it to phenotypes which they are several in each country. & I'm guessing you could at best have a lower than 100 percent chance of guessing right depending on the person and your knowledge.

No, the actual reference image has a different key. This study was copied and redone by multiple academics and they really fucked up the pictures cause they were non-asians who got confused themselves. If you read the original paper it even states that some of these are tricky on purpose by using ethnic Chinese who are Korean citizens for example. I will find the report and upload it tomorrow.

the japanese are easy to tell apart because we see them so often in media or in nintendo switch presentations. It would probably be easy to tell the chinese or koreans if we saw them allot too.
