What causes white men to travel half way across the world and save an obscue language no one cares about? This dude could have just done his colonial job and fucked off but nah he hunted down Telugu premodern works, preserved and published them out of his own pocket all on his own? He even wrote one of the earliest modern dictionaries/linguistic analysis of Telugu. This is something only white men will do, No No-white person will go through such lengths for a language not even its speakers care about.
