>>213678454It's interesting how we allowed this to happen. America is unwilling to admit it's global position, and is therefore unable to present it in such a way that people would be okay with it. This allows our rivals to point out our global position and spin it however they want. If America openly admitted it's global hedgemonic position, whether or not it's "true" that it's "good" or not, it could certainly spin it that way if we wanted. Rather than it being a "coersive neocolonial financial empire" that the Chinese spin it as or the the "psychotic woke-liberal Atlantacist thalassiocratic regime" or whatever the fuck the Russians spin it as now, you could see America spin itself and it's presence as an "opt-in finance-security architecture to allow safe development for memberstates", with a few tweaks. Shame that the elected representatives in D.C know fuck all about our international policy, more or less letting DOD/IC/TT types write it all based on their own individual interests rather than national interests. A new legitimacy framing would go a long, long way in saving this country from a crisis.
