I'm going to tell you a personal story so that you can understand this phenomenon. When I moved to another state in here up North but still in the south I began to crave some cultural aspects that we're very accessible to me in my hometown but we're very foreign to people where I currently live, so I begin to invest so to speak in those habits and have those habits in order to feel closer to the place I got out of. I think there is something similar that happens with migrants when they go to a different country ... you feel more patriotic, the culture where you come from seems more dear to you, and this is something you can only experience if you undergo the same journey.
