Many communist movements in Latin America incorporated Christianity, especially liberation theology. "Acting like redditors" isn't why it hasn't proliferated further, the reason is because there was and still is active opposition from America and other capitalist countries that are determined to smother the growth of any parallel economic systems at all costs
