nobody outside america actually knows or cares about your country's internal differences

as far as we all know the grand canyon, statue of liberty, bewerly hills and the white house are all like, an hours drive from each other

this question is dumb because it requires no knowledge of this country to still understand why two cities exist, they are geographicallg further apart than berlin and cologne are, yet i don’t presume those two cities are the same despite not knowing the actual differences either

San Fransico is very small and cramped. Basically New York City of the west coast and all the buildings look like this. Los Angeles is very big and very spread out.

yeah san francisco is one of the more urban and walkable cities in the US despite being quite smoll. it outperforms even some east coast cities. its quite an anamoly

the biggest thing holding san francisco back is the lack of walkability surrounding it. trying to go anywhere outside of the city limits turns into unwalkable surburban hellscape like the rest of america. that's why walkfags spend their entire life savings to live there and nobody else can afford it

Anonymous United States No.213682982

in a general sense that's true but its especially bad in san francisco's case, or especially noticeable.
other walkable major cities like boston, new york, chicago, philadephia, DC, Montreal, Toronto, Vancouver etc all have workable regional transit options that can take you to many neighborhoods, suburbs, or neighboring cities
san francisco regional transit is extraordinarily bad compared to how good transit is in the city limits

I mean it doesn't cover a large geographical area and has high density housing that crams a lot of people into the small area, like Manhattan. Did you forget to take your autism meds?

San Francisco is very dense, especially compared to LA sprawl. LA is barely even a city it's just a bunch of suburbs that are all joined together.
Anonymous United States No.213685688
>>213685584
no, LA is dense by american standards. the strip from downtown to santa monica is major-city tier. but its still not as walkable because commercial use-cases are not centralized and the stroads feel unsafe for pedestrians

The efficiency of a public transportation system usually has more to do with population density than land area.
Anonymous United States No.213687006

Yes, San Jose is 3rd in population density but their 42 mi. light rail system has significantly lower ridership than a bunch of less dense cities with smaller systems.
