Chiang would've done land reforms, and implemented industrialization policies. Probably do a better job than Mao, but with more corruption. Problem is that ROC would've gone up against the Soviet Union. There will be more US support because of this, but it has the potential to go hot. Relations with Japan would be much better. North Korea wouldn't exist

A KMT led China at best would just look like Park Chung Hee's Korea but with economic development on roids'. Coupled with their non-ideological commitment and their historic enmity of both the USSR and the US during their time in the mainland, the Cold War would have turned into a three way gangbang between all three of them and their spheres.

But I guess the one good thing that would come out of it would probably be the fact that the Non-Ideological Camp would have a backer.

Even Korea was largely poor farmers and look where it is now.
