from what I've heard from a friend the recovery period is hellish and if you don't do it while your hair is in a stable state (i.e no longer shedding) you'll lose all your hair again

Yeah but I can comb my hair (as we say in /Isr/ "shlichta") to make it look like I'm not balding. I've talked to a few people about my baldness and they said they can't see it
Plus some people grow hair from it, not me though

The shedding phase lasts a long time(from day 20 to 80-90). It's not like people on here are active on the dating scene. What do they have to lose?

Diffuse thinning is quite different from extemely aggressive male pattern baldness. The latter is like a reaper while thinning can be managed with meds.

Do you have a timeline of the thinning? Pictures and all?
I find it hard to believe that it could wipe out your frontal, mid, crown scalp from hairs that quickly. My hairline was gone in 2 weeks when I was 17.

i'm not gonna do a whole tressless post, but the hairline isn't receding, it's thinning on top and crown, 22 and the scalp is pretty visible
