The only truly original Korean thinker I can recall is Yi Gyu Bo(이규보). on one of his poems, he asked god why he created vermin and pests. god replies that he doesn't know why, that he didn't create anything, that he doesn't know why he is called god, and that everything emerges and changes on their own spontaneously.
