I have literally never heard of this in America but also maybe being a public sector lawyer is better here than elsewhere, I mean obviously there's plenty to complain in any part of the field but the do a sexual favor to get into this firm is just not something I hear about, plus public work usually gets you reimbursement on loans. Honestly it might be the opposite, there were minor headlines about a law intern at a huge firm who went around biting people out of autism. That's the land of the free baby.
Like most things the US makes it a different beast it seems. Though maybe regular beaurcratic job sounds less appealing in nations with better healthcare
