For me true crime documentaries are interesting when a crime resonates with me somehow, like I find the cases where there were lots of dismissed opportunities to catch the serial killers very frustrating but for some reason something beckons me to watch these. Idk why, maybe it's like simultaneously encouraging to be more vigilant, but also I guess it makes me feel like I'm not crazy for seeing injustice where other people see no such thing, it's like "See, literal serial killers weren't caught even though all that could've taken to catch them was listening to a victim or another easy-ish thing, so yeah, sometimes people don't see injustice"
And also I'm interested in cults because I'm extroverted but has always felt like an outsider, people don't like me, so I'm kinda fascinated with social interactions and spectacle, performance of certain social things in general, but also with how people with malicious intent can convince others to drink the cool-aid, how they do it and why do they do it.
