It is a magical place where the iqs are below 80 and everyone is very religious and superstitious. There's no water, electricity or phone service outside the main city and the main occupation is subsistence farming. Once a year during easter, everyone gets together tor burn effigies of Jews and drive them out of the main town into the tax office/bank where the government has to evacuate them inside APCs. Literacy is minimal and everyone has guns and regularly fights the military when they try to do something like stealing oil, dumping toxic waste, or stealing children for slavery. Also, slavery is kinda legal so long as it's hondurans or guatemalans. The military has no power because they keep getting shot at.
My parents and many Americans' parents are from there. Most mexicans wish it would follow guatemala's example and be a separate country already.
