No, it actually doesn't because mental healthcare doesn't exist. they just roam around committing violent crime, other times becoming homeless drug addicts, being abusive to other people, drinking themselves to death and just slowly dying in their own piss if they are older.

What's the alternative? Death or perpetual depression?
Ideally you can rise above it without the need for medication, but I'm guessing not everybody is capable of that.
