I saw the street videos of New York.

It was more attractive than the streets of Korea or Japan

It was cleaner than I thought, and the shops and people were beautiful.

Why do movies and dramas always portray New York in a bad way?

New York is hideous. Garbage, homeless everywhere. Junkies shooting up openly, graffiti everywhere and fentanyl zombies everywhere. Tokyo and Seoul are not like that.
