Women don't actually hate video games. They hate two things
-when a man is just relaxing, happy and satisfied
-when a man's attention is not on her
Video games just happen to combine these two things. The man is having a good time by himself, not focusing on the woman. That's what women hate, not that it's a video game. There are some exceptions to this, if the man is doing something that can be perceived "useful", like tooling around in the garage with something. This is because women are also very neurotic and always looking for something that is wrong or needs to be fixed, so as long as the man is doing something that she thinks is improving something, it's okay. But if a man is just sitting around, perfectly content and not working on something, the woman freaks out because she is unable to understand what that feels like. So she goes online to complain about what her man is doing

I know, I played it when it was still in alpha and I was in high school. Minecraft originally was teenagers and young adults playing, it's just been marketed to children since m$oft bought it.
