>>213820598Interesting, I went the other way around from atheism to religion, though I suppose I never was truly an atheist as I had had several crazy supernatural experiences (had a period obsessed with urbex and going to haunted places and recording..... and shit happened, I even have a voice speaking on record).
But I suppose from a physics point of view the initial cause argument + a dualist thought experiment convinced of the non materialist pov.
Basically, the physicalist position is untenable (pioneered by Descartes, your compatriot).

>>213820712Basically momo went to a cave, some spirit claiming to be from God appeared and started choking him and yelling READ (iqra) and he actually threw himself off a cliff only to be taken back by the spirit lol
Then he ran home to hide behind his wife. It took her and I think her uncle to convince him he was a prophet, he thought he was haunted.
Here's the funny thing, in the bible whenever an angel appears it's never horrifying like that. Also, the quran itself never identifies that spirit as an angel but always mentions it as something apart in the enumeration.
I find it fascinating because in the OT baal was the greatest rival of Yahweh, and here that nigger goes and makes a religion that is the complete subversion of Christianity with lies and half truths, yet somehow God forced him to retain some "tells" like the lack of His name (YHWH) and other glaring contradictions (surah al maidah), but then that religion goes to be the greatest murderer of Christians and also the only religion to rival Christianity.
It's almost like some lesser deity is trying to rival God. I should say, the Bible is henotheist, it acknowledges other lesser "gods" in a lower category than YHWH and scorned by th time of the OT for mismanagement of the peoples of Man. M. Heiser has a nice paper on this.
