they can improve their reputation by not acting like indians anymore. indian culture is a deeply deeply crappy one and it needs to be overhauled for the country to ever be anything other than a shithole. indian culture encourages extreme misogyny (including misogyny induced infanticide), extreme social division and inequality, dirtiness (picrel is a street view from afghanistan, which is actually much poorer than india. notice how there isn't trash everywhere? my point is, total disregard for cleanliness isn't a poverty thing, it's an aspect of indian culture), nepotism, corruption, sexual violence, tribalism, and a general disregard for everything that makes a society civilized.


Britain shouldn't have let india loose so soon, if they'd just had maybe 40 more years, they could have made real progress on correcting indian culture and developing the country.

Their reputation was at its best in the 90s before their population gained internet access. At the time they were viewed reasonably well due to yoga, chai tea, the taj mahal and bollywood. The fact that it was a shit hole didn't matter as this reputation was not based on tourism. By connecting every train climbing river polluter to the internet they revealed the truth of the matter. If this would gave been tolerated if Europe, Canada and the US hadn't collectively decided to use the population as scabs to suppress local wages (among other things). I cannot just ignore India and wave it away in the category of not my problem. They are right here, millions of them, palms out demanding jobs and gibs and housing to which they believe they are entitled.

There is no recovery from this. Deporting every single one would not repair the damage in a generation.
