The Midwest is even worse. It’s literally impossible to exist without a car there. The entire landscape is 6 lane roads with stoplights every 100 yards surrounded by parking lots. There’s nothing to do but go to work at your shitty office job, go get Chipotle for lunch, go home and heat up some slop for dinner.
You take your life in Finland for granted because you have no idea how miserable the baseline of American existence is. The simple things in your life, just being able to go outside and walk around your city or town freely, is practically impossible the US barring a few small areas (all with impossibly high costs of living).
