I would never pay for my gf's food because I would never date someone who can't afford things for themselves.

The last time I went on a date I covered (would feel weird not) but I ate kidney beans from the can for the next few days after that. All we did was dinner and a movie too. With this economy I might as well bend over and spreading my asscheeksโ€”because inflation is fucking all of us into bankruptcy

Regardless of whether it was a romantic date, even when eating out with a platonic friend I'd insist on paying for the meal, especially if i invited them

>modern economy buckbroke men so hard they cant afford a dinner date
It's so much worse than not being able to afford a dinner date. We don't even have the time to actually date properly anymore. That's why dating apps have become so popular, no one has the time to go out and meet people naturally like our parents did and people have done for centuries. Finding a woman has become relegated to something you do on your phone while you're taking a shit in the office bathroom. After college no one is going out to bars anymore. Literally all of the bars in my city are college students, retired boomers, and unemployed alcoholics.
I hate to sound like a blackpill doomer, but if you don't find a suitable life partner before you graduate college your realistic options are either dying alone or setting up a Hinge profile. If you have a large social circle and/or work with people in your age group then your odds are a little bit better, but even then you risk fucking up relationships with your friends/office if things go wrong. The modern economy and the work culture it has created does not care for our well being, it just wants to wring us dry.

Yeah but thats mainly because restaurant owners, even small restaurant owners, fix prices that give them insane revenues. The motherfuckers want to retire in 12 months of work

The same shit is happening accross all industries. The motherfuckers selling used cars want to retire in 12 months, the landlords want to retire in 12 months, cinema owners, small entrepreneurs, etc. These retards got lobotomized by TikTok edits of rich kids living life to the fullest in Bali and are wrecking the economy in an attempt to pursuit that lifestyle. Im sure theres a biblical lesson in all of this nonsense

I don't see the nobleness of it, it made sense in the past when women couldn't get high paying jobs but most women nowadays make just as much if not more money than men so the gesture seems entirely meaningless and pointless to me

Why is it always the trad alpha male larpers types who complain about men being expected to pay for dates? Isn't the point of being an alpha male to be a provider? And you you can't even pay for dinner? I can understand not wanting to be exploited by a gold digger whore who expects you to cover three figure dinner bills every night, but you shouldn't be dating women like that anyways. Just pay for the food.

Maybe it's just my culture and the way I've been raised, but I'd feel awkward and embarrassed expecting the other person to pay for their meal
If it's a friend, switching between who gets to pay is more in line with my beliefs

If she's willing to come over I will offer her wine and maybe cook some food and expect that she gives me access to her holes as a reward.
