They contain similar amounts of sugar as any other soda. Studies regarding cancer risk related to intake of artificial sweeteners are inconclusive at best (https://www.cancer.gov/about-cancer/causes-prevention/risk/diet/artificial-sweeteners-fact-sheet). There were numerous studies during the 1950s and earlier that showed how smoking increased the risk of cancer.

I drink club mate. Might get a bombilla soon. Monster has a nice taste of course but the caffeine is too much for me, and it just screams unhealthy on a very darwinian level. Red Bull tastes worse but it feels nicer, like a strong cup of coffee and a coke. Right now I switched back to tea and moka coffee depending on the days.
