Japanese manga is more pop-cultural. Manga has to be affordable for everyone.

Manga is made by one dude with maybe an assistant if he's lucky and it's hard work.
American comics are practically made by committee, hence why they're so full of propaganda (the companies are also run by Jews go figure)
