In the UK the aging population (too many old people not enough young) from low birth rates and higher life expectancy is having a crippling effect. Local councils are going bankrupt to fund care for old people and add to that the strain of welfare to pay for rampantly inbreeding workshy muslims and blacks (social care is a legal requirement for councils) and there's no money left for anything else

I was in china most of august in Yunnan.

First what struck me as interesting is in Yunnan many people like Chiang Kai Shek. I didn't even bring it up, I just talked about history and so on. They seem very sympathetic towards him and many openly say they wish the KMT won. They still love 'China' and are opposed to Taiwan independence of course. Yunnan is somewhat backwards and on the edge of the empire though, so I'm not surprised.

Shandong was the opposite. It's a strict confucian province and everyone loves the CCP. It's the happiest barrack by far. However in Shandong, people were terrified of the childless stuff. The top gossip going around was how 30-40% of nurseries in chinese cities closed in the last 5 years. many of the staff have reallocated to elderly care. the population decline is likely more serious than is being reported.

I saw some Indian restaurants in Yunnan and they are empty. I think the Chinese know its just a gateway to Indian chain migration, so they are not going to enable that. In my casual discussions with chinese people they all seemed fully aware of the Indian 'foot in the door' tactic.

yeah i was talking to quite a kind guy. he said his grandparents topped themselves in the 50s, a lot of people did, rather than have to go through with what the CCP was doing.

I keep reading news about low birthrate and most of them are either about China, South Korea, and Japan. I get it, they are indeed dangerously low, but doesn't Europe also suffer the same low birthrate demographic crisis? Why is the news reporting keep focusing on East Asia, while Europe are neglected?

I'm not sure about France or the US, but part of the reason Israel's birth rate is so high is because Hardemi (ultra-orthodox jews) average 6-7 kids.
