Safety in Sweden can be explained by socioeconomics. However by the same metrics, the filipines with their 15 million people living beyond the poverty line should be extremely unsafe. It's not. It has a homicide rate of just 4 per 100k. A comparable country socioeconomics wise like Equador has a rate of 45 per 100k. Why is SEA by and large so safe compared to other regions with roughly the same circumstances?
