When you have to wheel a cart full of kroner through the car graveyard of Grünerløkka to get a loaf of bread, you'll understand our stress and insecurity.

I make more than both of my parents did combined when they were my age. They had a mortgage. I have a basement apartment and have to check the price of beef.

This is going to make the crash that much harder... I hope everyone figures things out (economically) before the globe is just a handful of dying rich, and swathes of starving poor
My bank has fucked up enough times that I always keep enough cash on me to get home from basically wherever, and enough cash in the safe at home to go comfortably couch surf at my cousin's in England in case something serious happens here.

I guess it's harder for families.
Even as a NEET living on the minimum neetbux (€400 after rent and bills) I was doing fine back before my permabux.
But I'm also a single dude so no kids to feed.

I'm trying to keep in mind that there are still a half dozen large paycheques still being processed...
In the winter, I can work 60h a week, and not have $400 after rent and bills. The missus gives me shit for having the freezer just jammed full of leftovers, but I'm going to be glad to have them this winter.
Anonymous Sweden No.213873468 >>213873608

I mean nothing wrong with leftovers. I also have a bunch of containers in the freezer full of it.
Mostly because I am lazy and tend to cook 1-2 times per week and when I do I cook enough to last me for a few days or even a week.
These days after rent and bills are paid I have pretty much exactly €1k left to spend on whatever. Around €200 goes towards groceries and snacks.

A lot of people don’t know how to cook from scratch, so they buy food ”products” rather than raw produce

Food products have gone up a lot in price, if you mostly buy raw ingredients, then the prices have not really moved that much save for special goods like coffee or cocoa which are very volatile by nature

Watching the us struggle with inflation is so odd, what's even causing it? Giving away money to Ukraine? Printing more money than ever to feed neets and niggers? Or is it just the aftermath from giving money away during covid?

Half of americans are buying every meal as thing likes frozen lasagna trays that you stick in an air fryer to feed your family of 4 and the price of such processed foods has more than doubled and almost tripled at this point. And the other half is buying rice, beans and masa seca to feed a family of 17 for a dollar a day as the prices of these has not risen much.

Our "news" makes this slop to appeal to people who need to feel sorry for themselves. The inflation in 2022 and 2023 was for real. Nothing has really changed since then. Our groceries are still by far the cheapest compared to our incomes in the first world.

Selling treassury bonds at unprecedented levels ever since 2008. Covid and the current trade war happening basically back to back is rocking the house of cards. Despite all of Trumps talks it looks like he's simply going to keep on selling debt to make his budget just like everyone else.

The banks here are already slowly crashing. The trick, as with every trick in economics, is to beat the rush to buy or sell.
I'm already at my tipping point (or I wouldn't be hoarding notes like the world's poorest dragon), I just need a destination that's quite a bit further out from the sink hole..
