2. majority mexican/spanish
3. spanish more commonplace than english
4. nuclear waste
5. moderate, """safe""" levels of radioactive fallout in the dust from nuclear testing
6. no jobs outside of nuclear waste jobs
7. higher taxes than texas
8. everything shuts down for easter, including the roads for processions
9. everyone is an alcoholic for the above reasons
10. it's texas without the money

texas also borders the better mexican state and has better mexicans. NM is just a very big spain and it's shit in the same way puerto rico is, it's basically a spanish country that is american because we made a mistake by taking it away from mexico

Back in the 1930s New Mexico was forcibly dragged into the 20th century and has remained there for the past 100 years. It's brothers in nearby Chihuahua are still remaining in the bronze age but a few select places have advanced into the Iron Age and Juarez is in the Early Christian age. Whenever one of them evolves into a homo-sapien they then do what all homos do and move to California where it is legal.
