I just learned Russians don't think that they lost the Cold War.
Apparently, Soviets just decided to stop competing with the US and dissolve their own country as a gesture of goodwill, and then Americans betrayed them or something.

its just like in 2022, the official narrative of the russian government is that they conquered ukraine in under 3 days. Reached Kiev, had a victory parade and then Zelenskyi betrayed them and pushed them back so they left in a good will gesture

It's similar to the post-WW1 German stab-in the back meme, how Germany "wasn't really defeated"., how they deserved to be treated as victors, how they were entitled to Eastern Europe, Anglos being mean bullies despite actually being the lenient ones towards them etc.
