People know how to swim lol. But swimming isnt a sport that you do in school. Here we mainly do Volleyball, Basketball and Soccer.
Kids know to swim either at the swimming pool, or they just learn because as you said they live 10 minutes form the sea and since age 2 they go yo the beach with their parents/friends and learn to swim there.
