Too many people speak English now. There should not be elementary schoolers in Indonesia and Cameroon talking about skibidi toilet on TikTok.

The Brits spread English, not the Yanks. Even the fact Yanks (barely) speak English is due to the Brits. The Yanks mere capitalised on it in the last 80 years or so. Give credit or blame where it is due.

I think the reason why Spanish, Brazilian, French and Russian posters compulsively make mistakes when posting on /int/ is their subconsious seethe over English being the world language and culture instead of their homeland's. Look at almost any post from those flags and you'll find at least one word misspelled, or weird punctuation, or even English vocabulary pinned to their native syntax.

It's a really fast evolving and flexible language. I think it will become like Arabic where it is basically "Common" but every area has their own version, and if you speak the formal person you'll sound like someone reading the bible.
