i prefer not to talk to people from my hs, it makes me cringe and always lowers my confidence because i think of how many times i made cringe jokes or just acted like class clown, its much better to fuck off to another city and never see any of the people from your hs ever ever ever never again, great for ego boost, plus you never think of comparing yourself to your peers that way.

I saw some of them working from home earning 6 figures already. Some became sell outs on social media because getting paid to upload on Facebook is better than getting an entry level job here.

Ever since the NS2 attack and the pandemic happened a lot of them got fired from their cushy union engineering and consulting jobs. The really smart ones had alread immigrated before the pandemic. Usually Bay Area or Shanghai/China. Lot of people have moved in with their parents, even those having fultime professional jobs. Rents have increased 100% in the last 15 years when adjusted for inflation in my home town. Only the rich retards that inhereted the houses from their parents could maintain their middle class lifestyle.

One is a doctor. He runs a practice in a small town. Thing is his grades weren't exceptional in high school and he didn't seem to be particularly clever. Nevertheless, he is the most successful schoolmate i am aware of. Most of them are struggling, including the ones that had very good grades and intelligent reputation. The valedictorian is in jail for some drug nonsense. Not even sophisticated drug nonsense. Three are dead. One suicide.

How does admissions for medical school in Canada work? Here in Norway you need quite literally perfect grades and all possible extra points to be admitted.

Sounds about right. However I'm a smart kid with well-off parents and still a big time loser. All the really ambitious people make 4x what I make, by having 3-5-7 YoE in tech.
I was pigeonholed hard into something I didn't like and couldn't succeed in (medicine), just got an actual degree last year from a third-class uni and weak GPA due to all the bitterness I've accrued by then and can only land an entry level job with a salary that is consistent with my lack of experience which is laughable.
My parents also never believed in hand-outs, so I struggle, meanwhile some rich kids just sit on their ass nearing 30, driving Beemers, doing fuck all.
