played it like 3 times so far, last time around Christmas with an old school friend who I see only once per year or so. I btfo him, even though the times before I was terrible. It's fun.
Yeah, I love 9 ball. I bought a $50 cue stick and it's really nice, noob-friendly. I'm trying to practicing breaking and running, but my aim is fucked because my right shoulder is fucked.

Yeah, but it's impossible to find a straight table outside of specialized places, and those places don't have that table rotation where the winner stays and everyone plays with everyone eventually.
I miss the old bar so much, bros.

Think about it like a musical instrument or a gun. Even though the difference between them is apparently minimal, they're precision tools, your motor skills will be tuned to a very specific size, weight, etc.

It can make a difference if you're a decent player and have some basic understanding of how to control the cue ball. But in the hands of someone who has no idea what they're doing, playing with a $1K cue vs. a $100 cue won't make a lick of difference
