Blue collar slave
Where did the blue collar pays good meme come from, in Germany 90% of actual blue collars earn below $50 000 a year before tax, even the "elite" of blue collar workers like welders or nurses don't hit even the 40 000 euros mark. You'd think it's different in the USA but tradies suffer from the same problem, welders earn around $50 000 a year and the only well-off are the nurses (due to extremely bloated prices in healthcare sector, so ALL workers there benefit)

And your job is? Underwater diving and travel nurses are the only blue collar specialsits with good pay but but both have large drawbacks with the underwater diving having one of the highest mortality rates in existence. I don't think that Germany has any good blue-collar jobs, there's no Norwegian off-shore oil drills and no Canadian or Australian mines in far away wastelands. You either work at a factory for the wages I showed or you switch the field and try to become a white collar instead

Scandinavia might be the sole place where that's really the case, as income differences between most jobs are marginal.

In most of the Wect, the more removed your job is from actual work with your actual hands (e.g. tax consultant, project manager, patent analyst ...), the better you earn.

you seem not to realize that when someone thinks of "blue collars making good money" they mean independent tradies like plumbers, electricians and so on, not factory/warehouse workers.
Just be an electrician, run your own business with repairing electrical stuff in people's houses or just finishing houses inside and you will have high income guaranteed (if you're actually professional).
Anonymous Netherlands No.213965166 >>213965258

Even among independent contractors the pay is shit though. Doesn't mean there are not a few guys who can make it work, but typically only after they remove themselves from the actual work when they start employing other people to do the work and become more of a business owner

Well, to each his own, I think people might have just different expectations for what good income is. Obviously you cannot expect a plumber to ever make more than a CEO of some international corporation but still it will be probably more than most regular wagies.

Well, that's the part that makes something a real job: that you're actually working towards something. Most people call that a deadline. Do you ever hear a plumber being stressed about "I have this big plumbing deadline coming up at the end of week 40, my boss will kill me if I don't get this pipe in"? You can be autistic about the definition of "deadline" and argue semantics but that changes nothing about the actual distinguishing factor

Yes? those types of workers are stressed out all the time because they take too many jobs at once and have to drive back and forth between them. It sounds like you've never hired or known a blue collar worker in your life

I typically always had days in the week where I didn't have lectures so I could fit in a couple of shifts of work per week, and that's absolutely true for most students. Even at the end of my degree I had a part time office job in my field and my schedule was flexible enough to make it work.

Doing overtime in Germany is retarded but doing overtime in Germany as a blue collar is THE most retarded thing you can do, in the eyes of law there's no difference between Ivan working 7 days a week for $5000 a month and Gretha the HR working 4 days for $500, both are taxed the same.

>foreign students have priority.
what the fuck? how does that make sense? here foreigners are advised to not come unless they managed to find housing themselves. There's no housing organised by the university, only private rent

it's not that. university ratings are heavily affected by the percentage of foreign students. universities with higher ratings get more applicants and more funding, one way or another

It's different for tradies in the US since we don't have draconian business laws. Usually, if you're over 100 IQ and in a trade you'll do your time as an apprentice then start your own business. Very easy to scale and a realistic pathway to making $200k+ from nothing as people will shoot each other for decent tradesmen and contractors here.
