What degrees are actually worthwhile and /pol/-approved? Iโ€™m 20, turning 21 this December, from Finland, finally about to start a bachelorโ€™s. Got delayed because of family obligations. Parents are pushing finance since itโ€™s considered easy, good GPA potential, and not too stressful. Friend is saying computer science because AI and tech are the future. Younger sibling is pushing politics/international studies.

Is it really worth spending 4 years chasing a piece of paper when Iโ€™ve got 85k euros saved? Part of me thinks I should skip the whole university track and just learn a trade or go vocational instead.

Tech job market is currently shit. All that hype about AI does not necessarily translate into many jobs in the field.

Just understand that if you go vocational / trade you're forced to work stupid people work for the rest of your life. For some people this is great, but other people get bored and feel bad about wasted potential.

stop being a massive faggot seeking external validation and go with what makes you feel the best, decide if you need money, helping people - if you need the degree at all

Only accounting, engineering, and medicine likely guarantee you a job nowadays. Everything else is a gamble due to saturation or AI replacing you.

Get a trades job, plumbing or welding. The 11 years of study aren't worth it for most.

Real advice:
Get a degree with the most skewed female/male ratio for maximum sex.
Also you should rent an apartment for two close to campus so you can choose your roommate which will coincidentally always be a hot chick that is down to fuck (if not you replace her asap)

Is Aquaponics worth it? Apparently a vocational school here has that as a course.

Undergrad alone, easily Economics. Wish I had done it instead of CS 10 years ago. One of the highest earning/lowest unemployment majors, isn't (totally) pozzed, and has applications to everything in life.
