Do people actually wash dishes manually in some countries?

How is that possible in 2025?

I do.
Not gonna pay €200+ for a dishwasher just to wash a few plates and cups per week.

How much is your time worth?
How many hours in total do you waste on that every single year of your life?
Also dishwasher uses a fraction of the water of handwashing

I had a dish washer 20 years ago, I just prefer to wash them by hand, it takes less time.

It's much faster to wash by hands when you live alone and you don't cook with 3 different pans for every meal.

Water is included in my rent without extra cost.

I just wash my plate/cutlery and pan/pot when I am done cooking/eating. Takes a couple minutes.

I use that time to listen to French/Spanish Comprehensible Input.
>How many hours in total do you waste on that every single year of your life?
Takes me about 10-15 minutes a day max to do them all.
>>213979947
I've heard that before, but not mine. I've kept track and I use far less water doing it by hand. I don't really see how it's feasible that using a dishwasher every day uses less water than I do just scrubbing by hand. I don't even use enough water to fill up my sink.

This. It's not hard. I love alone so I only have a few items to wash after every meal. A dishwasher would be wasted on an incel like me.

My dad spends like an hour a day washing the dishes and literally has Jordan Peterson style mental breakdowns because he has no time blah blah blah, man is a basket case. We have a dishwasher but it's been broken for years, literally broke as soon as it was bought lol. He doesn't care about getting it fixed or getting a new one because this is a genuine OCD thing for him, he has a compulsion to wash the dishes.

Your dad needs to go to therapy, OCD is mental illness, and I have suffered from it for more than 13 years

I dotn think I ever washed anything in my life except for my own body. Clothes, dishes, carpets. Got the maid for that. Front yard, car. The jeet does it. Even when I was studying abroad, my home stay family used to do my laundry for me.

You tell him. Both me and my dad have actual diagnoses which is rare in Serbia, but even when you get that there's no real way to seek therapy unless you're a complete loony, then they just chuck you inside a mental asylum. There's no middle ground, according to our healthcare system you're either somewhat weird but completely fine to be enslaved in this turd world hellscape, or a basket case that needs to be locked up. No gibs either but that's probably obvious.
