Why are some people so fucking active?
I had a friend in my school like this, he took part in literally everything, every contest, all activities of all kind. He wasn't even super-intelligent (I was smarter myself) but he would never just sit down and do nothing for a while, he was always occupied with something. I lost direct contact with him after we finished the school but I know he got 2 master degrees, then PhD at 24, studied at some renowned western uni, now he works abroad for some big tech company + gives lectures at uni, writes books and whatever else (I follow him on social media). Existence of people like him makes me angry because I feel under pressure to be like him (and I surely have potential for that because I'm just smarter than him) but I prefer to shitpost on the internet all day long so I achieved nothing.

Yeah, some people are just like that. My friend tried dating women recently and showed me the profiles he matched with - it's crazy how many things people are up to, travelling all around the world, visiting concerts and stuff. I just sit at home playing videogames, posting on 4chan and jacking off.

but that's activity that doesn't require much intellectual effort
but there are people who literally think about something 24/7, constantly learning or finding solutions
how can you even live like this

Same. I've spent the last 11 years since graduating hs basically doing nothing while other family and former peers have lived 1000x the life I have since. I'm jealous but I also hate myself deeply

I guess it's a combination of a stronger drive to achive things and better willpower and discipline. It's easy to do nothing and exist in this comfortable swamp behind your computer screen, and the dophamine is instantenious. Getting your ass off the couch and doing something requires effort and willpower, especially if the reward is not in sight.
>how can you even live like this
Well, i do despise this life and i have extensive plans to radically change my life next year (moving to a different city). But it's oh so easy to lose yourself in this comfort of doing nothing when you have food, a place to live and the interner connection. Why are you even asking this question? I bet you are just like me if you browse this place and perfectly understand how one ends up like this.

Or maybe these people's brains just function differently and they simply feel dopamine bursts only when they do something, especially intellectually engaging. Otherwise I cannot really explain that, to me being focused like that all the time is tiring and boring.

Maybe they are just really into that thing they like doing. Passion is one of the strongest forces among the ones that drive humans. I remember being passionate about one of my hobbies a decade ago - it really is a wonderful state that allows you to accomplish so much. I think your problem is not in that your brain somehow functions differently - you just have nothing to be passionate about. You haven't found something that would grip you the same way it grips those people. But the thing is - you can't force yourself to be interested in something and i am not sure that every person can find that interest.

Well, I do have passions, just not intellectually engaging to such a degree which would require basically permanent occupation of my brain, studying and working. Normal people usually get tired with that, but these few people clearly don't.

I guess some people are just outliersand their brains really work differently, but they are a minority. My personal problem (and probably yours) is addiction to comfort and quick rewards. You know, brain is like a muscle, you have to constantly use it so its abilities aren't atrophied. I think these problems with concentration and boredom come from the fact that your brain just isn't used to stuff like this. The most difficult part is to decouple yourself from all that quick reward internet brainrot bullshit and do something more productive, and it will get better. Also not to spend the days doing nothing, because when you do nothing you don't want to do anything. I really don't have a one step solution. You just gotta do something.
And spend less time here. I quit browsing this fucking shithole (/int/ in particular, not 4chan as a whole, some boards are better ) a while ago but today i relapsed because i was extremely bored, at this place is even worse now than it was before.
