Racial divisions in Mexico are not as blunt as in the USA, Canada or Europe. Like this guy said there's a shitload of mixed people so the lines are kinda blurred. But they exist though>>214022932

My guess is that the division is bigger in places like Argentina and Brazil because they have an actual White European population of considerable size that has remained more or less pure specially compared to mexico

Brazil is pretty much the same as Mexico, most whites are mutts except the upper class types and some germans in the south, the difference is that we have a skin color question in the census, unlike Mexico.

Yes, in theory it's divided by class. I don't know how it works in your country, but here in Brazil, the lower classes are clearly dark skinned, and the skin gets lighter the higher you go, the elites being American tier pasty white. And there are racially based affirmative action policies everywhere, to "adress historical injustices", complete with racial tribunals that will judge if applicants do or do not fit within the "underprivileged minority" status.
