For smaller nations it is a reality sadly. Don't know about diaspoos, but you will automatically get treated better here if you're a western gaijin (american, germ etc.). God forbid if you're a fellow lithuanian or even worse a russian then you will be treated accordingly. If you came to Vilnius wearing an american army shirt some fat boomer would shake your hand and thank you for defending our country and take you on short date by buying you coffee and a croissant.

Also the lithuanian niceness is ingrained in our genes at this point (surrounded by bigger neighbors so had to be nice to not get genocided by them).
