I’m a dual national. In my current country, it’s New York, for better or worse.
In my other country, I guess it’s Zürich, but the comparison is beneath comical. A similarly laughable case could be made for Geneva, which is more like NYC in terms of intergovernmental/UN significance and overall internationalism, but isn’t a competitor on financial markets.
I don’t think New York is a realistic international metric or archetype. Most countries haven’t got one. São Paulo is a rare exception.
