Lower body mass and lower center of gravity enable better equilibrium control when shooting, and lower average blood pressure can support better aim in high-strain environments. These phenomena have been well documented among snipers and competitive/sporting sharpshooters. May not make much difference to a cop in practice, and I think it mostly applies to rifles rather than handguns, but it’s true.
