it's pretty hassle-free, it "passively" records your game and keeps the last x minutes (120 default), you can choose to let it record your mic as well, and if something cool happens you can hit the button to save the last y seconds, like the replay feature on nvidia and amd drivers
i enabled it yesterday and completely forgot about it until i saw a 120 minute recording of my gameplay on steam

this afternoon was the first time serious enemies attacked my base i think they are pretty rarely deadly and probably tied to your game progress
if you have a base at cafe enemies either spawn in the back room where you start, or the server room where the japan portal word is, or inside your base but those portals are destroyed by the bench
