because that's where Gypsies came into Europe from their provisional Middle Eastern homeland in the 14th century. Other Gypsies went to the south of Spain via the whole of North Africa, but the Balkans were a lot closer.

They've left Sweden now. No one knows where they went. My city had 10k of them at their peak circa 2016. The city basically just lost 10k people and have no idea what happened to them.

It's always been a mixed bag. Back in the old times they used to murder a gypsy for even being accused of theft. There are gypsies now working construction, learning language, and integrating but it's not extremely common
