I've been trying for years. At one point I lost 12kg against all odds and then what I proceeded to do next what to gain it all back. It's a self-destructive cycle I can't seem to escape

I remember reading that doing something consistently for 3 weeks makes it habit, you just have to persevere. A reasonable amount of self-loathing and guilt-tripping also goes a long way.

I started lifting like 2 years ago, my progress has been subpar but I'm still fairly proud of it because, I could have never have imagined I'd look like I do now as a kid since i was very weak and hated sports for most of my life

Staying on 1500 calories on workdays and 2000 on weekends. Cutting out most ultraprocessed stuff and empty calories in form of carbs (cookies, soft drinks, pastry, etc.). Oatmeal with parm on most days for breakfast and more salads and meat, but without a lot of fat. Otherwise, I didn't really restrict myself, as long as it was within the caloric budget for the day.

Hitting the gym 3 times a week + daily walks after work (10k steps minimum).

In gym - 15 minutes of cardio + 45 min strength workout, first full body, later switched to training specific muscle group, as got more strength. Plus dedicated cardio days every second week.

But it's mostly about self-loathing and guilt-tripping yourself into sticking to this "spartan" regiment

Yep. I'm eating like a fucking African kid after he got his first huge supply of food in his shitty country since i'm so fucking skinny. My trainer basically told me to eat A LOT, and that's what i'm basically doing. I hate being skinny, but i love seeing my physique getting bigger and bigger. My plan is to get a nice fat mascular body.

I meant to say daily minimum 10k steps walks. Generally trying to do 20k steps a day on Friday and weekends.

That's on top of the gym, mind you.

Yes, I started getting serious about the gym 4-5 months ago, now I'm going 4 days a week and started creating this week. Probably going to hit 1/2/3/4 next 1-2 months (I already went to gym in the past but only 2 days a week and also did sports). Aiming to increase my weight to 80 kg starting from 75 kg

not anymore at least in this economy. the whey skyrocketed and more scummy ingredients are added in the new whey shakes, thanks to eat ze bugs. so I just skinny mode for now.
