There are 2 kind of people playing vidya, the autist playing the same game over and over, and the explorer, and for that you need new gear. Lucky us, hardware is far cheaper, there is no excuse to pay extra unless you're living in the streets.

Mine would cost something like 400-500 usd, but still, is there anything worth playing? I won't bother with PC gaming until the industry start doing things and taking risks, until there, I won't bother. So I will probably get back to triple A gaming when VR gets really widespread and they start releasing really good games for it.

What are you talking about? A -97 computer couldn't play new titles at 2007. That's like a Voodoo graphix card for a mid-range PC. You'd be lucky if you can even start Half-Life 2, a 2004 title, with it.

If anything PCs last longer than before because there isn't some new APU coming out every other year that makes older cards obsolete. GTX 1070, a 9 years old midrange card, can still run almost anything.

That's not the point, even an indie game can consume shitton of power like sandbox games or UE powered games, which is the norm today for games nobody know. It's not even the graphic card but the whole system needing an upgrade, like low CAS memory and a fast CPU with an SSD for maximum gayming sessions.
