My parents divorced when I was 14. I didn’t have a strong relationship with my dad before that, but it disappeared after the divorce. I’m in my 30s now and have never really had a relationship with my father and that was really hard for a long time.

If your parents are decent people even if they don’t get along, do yourself a favor and try to understand that they fight because they’re imperfect. One day you’ll be old like them and you’ll realize that they had flaws just like you do and you’ll regret ever expecting them to be better than they ever could’ve been.
